WWE Smackdown May 23rd, 2025: Matches, Predictions & More
via WWE/Netflix

WWE Smackdown comes to you live tonight from Savannah, Georgia at the EnMarket Arena. Tonight we have some more Money In The Bank qualifiers on the men's and women's sides and the main event will feature a major tag team championship match. Let's get into it.

WWE Tag Team Championships: The Street Profits (c) vs. Fraxiom

Prediction: The Street Profits Will Win A Hard Fought Match

Since arriving on WWE Smackdown, Nathan Frazer and Axiom have run roughshod on the competition. They have defeated Los Garza, Pretty Deadly, #DIY and most importantly, the current WWE Tag Team Champions The Street Profits in a non-title match.

After notching all those wins, Fraxiom have earned a title match on Smackdown this week. While they have done well so far, expect The Street Profits to pull out a victory in a very tightly contested match. Triple H famously loves long title reigns, and The Street Profits have only been champions for two months in this current reign.

Money In The Bank Qualifier: Charlotte Flair Vs. Zelina Vega vs. Giulia

Prediction: Giulia Will Make Her WWE Main Roster PLE Debut At Money In The Bank

via WWE/Netflix

So far in the women's Money In The Bank match, SmackDown's Alexa Bliss and Raw's Rhea Ripley and Roxanne Perez have qualified. That's two veterans and one new star, and I think another newcomer to the main roster will also compete in the match.

Although Charlotte Flair seems like a surefire bet on paper to win, it would be foolish of WWE to put Charlotte Flair in another high profile match when she is being with angry apathy from fans. Her ally Roxanne Perez has qualified for the match, so look for Giulia to pick up the win her to move onto Money In The Bank.

Money In The Bank Qualifier: Shinsuke Nakamura Vs. LA Knight Vs. Aleister Black

Prediction: LA Knight Will Advance To Money In The Bank

via WWE/Netflix

For the Men's Money In The Bank match, only Solo Sikoa of Smackdown thus far has qualified for the match. The field remains quite open in terms of names, but this specific triple-threat match feels quite easy to call.

Although he returned recently to fanfare Aleister Black doesn't seem like a good fit for the Money In The Bank match. Shinsuke Nakamura as well would not seem like a viable name to win the match so that leaves LA Knight. Although the peak of his popularity in WWE may have already passed, Knight nonetheless still has a big fan following for a WWE midcard act and can easily be seen as a favorite to win the Money In The Bank. He should pick up the win here.

How To Watch WWE SmackDown

Location: Savannah, Georgia, EnMarket Arena

  • For American viewers, WWE SmackDown starts at 8 PM EST on the USA Network.
  • For International viewers, WWE SmackDown airs live at 8 PM EST.

Every WWE show moved networks in the past year. NXT was a big success for the USA Network on Tuesday nights, but  they made the switch to the CW, which brought a new look to the developmental show.

In 2019, SmackDown made its own big move, going from cable to network TV on FOX. This led to a huge increase in ratings, thanks in part as well to The Bloodline story, but with FOX not getting the ad revenue they hoped for, they let the Friday night show go. On September 13 2024, it went back to the USA Network.
