WWE SummerSlam: Jerry’s Top Three Matches To Look Forward To

The biggest party of the summer for WWE is when they put on the premium live event SummerSlam on August 2 and 3 This is the first time that the PLE(Preminum Live Event) will be a two-night event. The only other one would be WrestleMania. The WWE has already announced some of the card and in this article I will rank the top three matches I think will be the best.

3. CM Punk V Gunther (C) (World Heavyweight Championship)

CM Punk won a gauntlet match against Bronn Breaker, Jey Uso, LA Knight, and Penta on Monday Night Raw to become the No. 1 contender for SummerSlam. The last time Punk won the World Heavyweight Championship was at SummerSlam 2009 when he beat Jeff Hardy in a TLC match in the main event of that card. Will Punk finally get gold back around his waist since returning to the WWE or will Gunther still be champion?

2.Namoi (C) V Rhea Ripley V Iyo Sky ( Women’s World Championship)

This match was announced on Monday Night Raw at the beginning of the show. This match came from the night prior on the Evolution PLE. Ripley and Sky were having one of the best matches in women’s wrestling history when Namoi would come to cash her Money in the Bank contract to win the Women’s World Title. Raws GM Adam Perace said that the three women “could make magic” and help the box office when he made the triple threat match official.

1. John Cena (C) V Cody Rhodes ( Undisputed WWE Championship)

The Main Event of night two at SummerSlam will feature a rematch of WrestleMania 42 when Cena and Rhodes faced each other for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Rhodes beat Randy Orton at Night of Champions to win the King of the Ring tournament and his prize was a championship match against Cena. I expect that this match will surpass what happened at WrestleMania as we are nearing the end of Cena’s retirement tour.

Final Thoughts
