WWE fans rejected WWE's creative direction on Monday night when they chose to have Jey Uso win the Battle Royal and move on to face CM Punk at Saturday Night's Main Event in November. Fans have overwhelmingly disliked the YouTube video posting the footage.

Fans Tired Of Jey Uso Push?

The feedback on WWE's decision to have Uso win can't be judged by YouTube dislikes alone. That said, it appears many fans are starting to see some fatigue setting in for Jey Uso. In other words, it sounds like WWE fans want someone else to get the push Uso is repeatedly getting. One fan wrote, "Putting Jey over Knight is an obvious sign of favouritism within the creative team."

Jey Uso's Royal Rumble victory received a mixed response, his World Title reign was brief and arguably uneventful, and his character direction has been inconsistent since. The fact that viewers have joined others in disliking the video and WWE's decision should show the company that Uso's time as a potential challenger for the title has come and gone.

At this point, it might be the perfect time for WWE to pick another top star to get the ball and try to run with it. Several fans took the time to comment, saying that LA Knight, Finn Balor, AJ Styles, and even Dominik Mysterio would have been better choices than Uso.

Why Are Fans Rejecting Jey Uso?

The idea that fans no longer like Jey Uso isn't necessarily accurate. A good portion of the fan base still believes in him. With that in mind, he has had several opportunities to carry the torch for the company, and it hasn't worked out. He gets a good reaction from fans, and he's a lot of fun, but even WWE can't seem to decide what to do with him creatively.

It was just recently that Uso lost a No. 1 contender's match to Punk. They were booking him in a different creative direction, one that involved his brother Jimmy. The unfortunate injury to Seth Rollins didn't mean that fans wanted to see WWE pivot back to Jey being on top. And, if the idea is to build toward Jimmy costing Jey the title, it's a predictable ending.

The Battle Royal was a good opportunity to come up with something different, and they chose not to. That could be part of why fans are rejecting the decision.
