Zelina Vega has won her first career singles championship.
Vega defeated Chelsea Green to win the WWE Women’s United States Championship on Friday’s SmackDown in Fort Worth, Texas, capturing her second overall title in WWE, and her fist singles gold.
Green’s Secret Hervice Pper Niven and Alba Fyre interfered in Friday night’s title bout, and were eventually booted from ringside to even the playing field. Vega responded with a Code Red to score the pinfall victory.

Vega had held the WWE Women’s Tag titles on one occasion, and the TNA Knockouts Tag titles on one occasion in her career, but had never before won a singles title. Her career accolades also include winning the 2021 WWE Queen of the Ring tournament.
Friday’s SmackDown also included the return of Aleister Black, Vega’s real-life spouse. Black returned to the company following a four-year stint in AEW. Our full report from Friday’s SmackDown is available here.
Perseverance and hard work will always rise to the top…
