The inaugural week of XFL football was not perfect by any stretch. However, it did provide fans with an outlet during the first week of the NFL offseason.

Some of the play was tremendous. Fans were seemingly excited about rules that differ from the NFL. The product, overall, was solid.

Now, heading into Week 2, it looks like the XFL has decided to take this interest into account. According to TickPick, ticket prices for Week 2 of the season are up 17 percent from the initial week of action. Average prices are not cheap for the coming weekend of football.

St. Louis BattleHawks at Houston Roughnecks: $107; New York Guardians at DC Defenders: $101; Dallas Renegades at Los Angeles Wildcats: $98; Tampa Bay Vipers at Seattle Dragons: $94

As it relates to the DC Defenders game, their prices are more expensive than what we saw for the NFL’s Washington Redskins this past season.

Overall, the four games on last week’s slate drew a considerable audience. Meanwhile, the first game of the XFL’s reboot drew north of three million viewers on ABC.

Time will tell whether this is nothing more than a novelty that will ultimately wear off. What we see Week 2 will tell us a lot.
