50 Cent has reacted to Floyd Mayweather’s lawsuit, as their feud continues.
50 Cent and Mayweather are no longer on good terms despite having had a good relationship during the latter’s boxing career. The dispute started when Mayweather was sentenced to jail in 2012, as the rapper allegedly looked after the ‘The Money Team’ brand. 50 Cent allegedly claimed he was owed money, something the never recieved. Since then, they have gone their separate ways.
However, it appears the feud is still active. Mayweather has reportedly issued a $100 million defamation lawsuit against media outlet Business Insider. It is after their alleged claims that his $402 million real estate deal, which the boxer promoted, was not finalized. Floyd came out to shut down those suggestions, as he responded with legal action. Mayweather named Insider Inc. and journalist Daniel Geiger in his lawsuit. 50 Cent has now had his say.
“It’s unfortunate how quick they are to doubt you when you’re not supposed to win in their eyes. They expect athletes to go broke, not build portfolios. They expect flash, not financial literacy. Well, I’m rewriting the script with my own money, my own mind, and my own moves.
“If that threatens you, that says more about you than me. More often than not, they’d rather question the legitimacy of your power moves than applaud your growth. Racism, envy, and tired stereotypes fuel the doubt. But I didn’t fall to status quo I studied, I invested, and I’m building a legacy whether they like it or not. Respect the hustle instead of trying to dissect it.
“I’m 48 years old, and I’ve never sued a media outlet. But the media outlets, throughout my life, have bashed me, talked bad about me, spoke bad about my family. Now, I have always been judged because of how I present myself when I’m promoting a fight. You cannot judge me for entertaining the people when I’m promoting a fight. Judge me for the person that you know,” Mayweather
“We will vigorously defend against this meritless attempt to discredit our reporting and smear our reporter,” Insider Inc.
“Well, that case is going nowhere because you didn’t do the deal, champ. He must have named the writer separately to make him pay his own legal team. Champ mad,” 50 Cent
