Broner addresses talk linking him to Jake Paul with a direct and unfiltered response.
The last time we saw Adrien Broner lace up the gloves was on a Don King card in Miami, where he faced off against Blair 'The Flair' Cobbs on June 7, 2024. That night ended in a unanimous decision loss for Broner, sparking questions about what might be next for the former world champion. Since then, a string of rumors has emerged—some even tying Broner to an unexpected opponent: Jake Paul.
The internet chatter linking Broner to a possible bout with the YouTube-turned-boxing star has grown loud. But according to Broner, nobody bothered to tell him.
In a video captured by Boxing Kingdom on X, Broner unloaded on the rumor mill—and didn’t mince words. ‘With all that playing you doing on the internet with this me and Jake Paul s**t… Jake Paul, I’ll knock you out. All this playing you keep doing, I’ll knock him out, bro,’ he said, clearly agitated by the speculation.

Apparently, someone let Broner know he and Jake Paul were being mentioned in the same breath. And while nothing has been officially announced, the idea of a Broner vs. Paul presser—let alone a fight—would undoubtedly stir interest. Broner, never one for dull moments, brings drama to every ring walk, and fans would likely tune in regardless of the size difference.
That size gap, however, is real. Paul weighed nearly 200 pounds for his bout with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., while Broner hit the scale at 146 pounds against Cobbs. At this point in Paul's career, it feels like he’s moved past the Adrien Broners of the world.
Still, Jake has floated the idea of an exhibition with the much smaller Gervonta 'Tank' Davis—while Davis is a superstar, he's still a much smaller man—so anything is possible in today’s boxing world.
Whether or not this fight ever becomes real, Broner’s message was clear: keep the speculation respectful—or prepare for fireworks.
