His fourth fight was on the undercard of Ricky Hatton vs Paulie Malignaggi and foreshadowed his rise to becoming a four-division world champion. Broner would rise in the ranks from super featherweight up to lightweight, before skipping super lightweight altogether and challenging Malignaggi for his WBA Regular welterweight belt.
