Amir Khan will promote another boxing card in Lagos, Nigeria, on May 1, featuring a mix of professional and influencer boxers.

The move highlights a pivot away from the markets of Riyadh and Las Vegas. The card is headlined by popular online personalities Carter Efe and Portable. Combined, the two influencers boast a following of over 10 million, making this one of the largest influencer sporting events ever staged in Africa.

Khan’s expansion into Nigeria comes at a time of turbulence among the boxing establishment. Frank Warren remains embroiled in a complex legal dispute with the Saudis, while Eddie Hearn is busy navigating the aggressive market entry of Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.

“I’ve been in big fights around the globe, but the passion in Africa is something special. These fighters have heart, skill, and fire – now they get to show it on the biggest stage. Lagos is going to be electric,” Khan said

“This is Africa’s moment. We’ve built this card to showcase our own talent, the warriors who’ve come through the ranks here in Africa. We’ve teamed up once again with Amir Khan to put Nigeria and the continent of Africa on the map for the world to see,” Ezekiel Adamu (CEO of Balmoral Group Promotions)
