After spending years on the sidelines, British boxing legend Tyson Fury is all geared up for his comeback fight against Arslanbek Makhmudov. Recovered and back from a tough phase, Fury is now arguably in the best shape of his career and training regularly.
In an interview with Casino.org, boxer Andy Ruiz Jr. weighed in on the clash and shared his final verdict on the upcoming boxing match (quotes via DAZN). “I think they’re two big strong guys, but I see Tyson Fury boxing him around. I’ve seen them fight in Saudi Arabia, too. If Fury hits him in the body, I think he is going to beat him. He’ll knock him out in the eighth round.”
“I think he still has a chance. But nobody knows when their time is up. Only God knows your timing and where your mission and your purpose is supposed to go,” Ruiz Jr. continued.
“I think if Tyson Fury loses this, he’ll probably get more motivated and he’ll be training even harder. But, from the experience that he’s already had, with the drugs, been up and down, the retirement, and now coming back, that could play a toll on his career. We’re only getting older, but hopefully, he overcomes this, and he wins, and he picks me to fight next.”
Ruiz Jr. is widely known for handing Anthony Joshua his first loss and securing the WBA, IBF, and WBO titles in 2019. One of the most popular boxers, the Mexican-American boxer, has yet to fight a match since 2024.
“The Gypsy King” is set to take on Makhmudov in a heavyweight showdown on Apr. 11, 2026, and the fight is scheduled to stream live on Netflix.
