Anthony Joshua has warned Jake Paul that he is not going to be taking it easy in their fight – and he only views a knockout as a success.
The two-time unified heavyweight champion is a massive favorite over Paul ahead of their bout on Netflix later this month. Only an unfounded belief that the YouTuber rigs his fights is making any experts or fans believe that he has any chance of survival in the meeting.
And the Brit reckons that anything other than a destructive knockout victory will be viewed as a failure on the night. He is almost representing the sport of boxing against the circus act that Paul has become known for over the years.
Speaking with TMZ Sports, Anthony Joshua made his opinion on the Jake Paul fight, and what he needs to do in it, clear. He needs to land a brutal knockout, or else he won’t truly feel that he won at all even if he dominates a decision.
Do you believe he will land a violent knockout over the YouTuber and end his boxing career?

Asked about fans who feel he needs to stop the fight, Joshua replied: “I really understand where they’re coming from. I understand. I get it… I know the expectations and demands these fans have. And I respect it.
“If I didn’t respect it, I’d be honest with you and say, ‘No they’re talking rubbish,’ but I do. I do get it because I hold myself in that same regard, so I need to destroy him and that’s my intention, to seek and destroy!”
Despite this insistence, Joshua is aware that Paul seriously believes he can score what would be one of the greatest upsets in boxing history. As a result, he is ” not preparing for the person everyone thinks he is, but preparing for the person he thinks he is.”
