Anthony Joshua names two boxing superstars Jake Paul should consider fighting in 2026

Jake Paul has been backed to rebound from his first knockout loss in 2026.

Former two-time heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua stopped the YouTuber-turned-boxer inside six rounds on Friday night.

Jake Paul suffered a double broken jaw during the second defeat of his 14-fight career in the sport.

The 28-year-old underwent a post-fight surgery that means he’ll be eating through a straw over the holidays – but he’s shown no signs of wanting to walk away from fighting after his gruesome KO loss.

Anthony Joshua told Jake Paul he ‘needs to work harder’ to stay at the top level after their fight.

The British boxing legend backed his latest opponent to bounce back in another sell-out show.

‘AJ’ thinks Paul should keep taking on real boxers, rather than the old MMA fighters he built his record by beating.

Joshua named two boxing superstars Paul could face next during his post-fight press conference.

“Jake has spirit,” he said.

“He has some heart. He tried his best, and I take my hat off to him because No. 1, a lot of fighters haven’t got in the ring with me, and Jake did. Secondly, even when he got knocked down, he kept on trying to get up, and I take my hat off to him.

“So, America, I think you have someone who could potentially — if he still has the heart for it — come back again, dust the dust off his shoulder and come again and maybe sell out this center sometime in 2026.

“Maybe against a Gervonta Davis, a Ryan Garcia, who knows.”

Anthony Joshua calls out Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua wants to test himself against much tougher opposition next time out.

The 36-year-old called out Tyson Fury in the immediate aftermath of his 29th career win.

“It wasn’t the best performance, it wasn’t the best,” Joshua admitted in his post-fight interview.

“We shake off the cobwebs, and I can’t wait to roll into 2026.

“And if Tyson Fury’s as serious as he thinks he is, and he wants to put down his Twitter fingers and put on some gloves and come and fight one of the realest fighters out there that will take on any challenge, step in the ring with me next if you’re a real bad boy.

“Let’s see you in the ring and talk with your fists.”
