Boxxer confirmed Saturday that Adam Azim will meet Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela in an IBF super lightweight eliminator December 4 at Copper Box Arena in London.
The 21-year-old British prospect enters at 15-0 with 12 knockouts but has boxed just once in 2026, stopping Steve Claggett inside three rounds. Six consecutive inside-the-distance wins have followed, including stoppages of faded veterans Ohara Davies and Sergey Lipinets, though the breakout performance against a live contender has yet to materialise. Azim told Bad Left Hook the matchup represents his last hurdle before a title shot, calling it the most important bout of his run so far.
Valenzuela arrives with a 32-5 ledger and 18 knockouts, currently riding a 2-2 stretch that does not fully capture his recent form. The Mexican took Subriel Matias eight rounds in 2024 before the stoppage and many observers believed he earned the decision over Lindolfo Delgado last year. He promised to derail the Brit's ambitions, noting his superior experience at world level.
The eliminator's placement on the calendar suggests the IBF remains committed to staging Delgado against Arthur Biyarslanov for the vacant strap, or will secure Biyarslanov a replacement if Delgado withdraws.
Francesca Hennessy puts her 9-0 record on the line against 13-0 Johanna Wonyou in a bantamweight clash for the interim WBC belt, created to manage undisputed champion Dina Thorslund's scheduling commitments. Both women carry just two stoppages apiece.
