Alycia Baumgardner will challenge IBF lightweight champion Elif Nur Turhan on November 8 in Arlington, Texas, according to a Most Valuable Promotions announcement reported by ESPN.
The bout marks Baumgardner's first fight at 135 pounds after a lengthy stint at junior lightweight. Turhan holds the IBF strap and brings an unbeaten record into the matchup.
Most Valuable Promotions, which backs Baumgardner, confirmed the date and venue. The November card in Arlington gives the former undisputed champion a chance to claim gold in a second weight class.
Turhan has defended the IBF belt twice since winning it last year. She represents the first major test for Baumgardner at lightweight and the biggest payday of her own career.
The fight is set for Jake Paul's promotion, which has built its women's stable around Baumgardner since signing her earlier this year. Weigh-ins are scheduled for November 7.
