Fireworks are in store for Orlando this coming Saturday, 7th June, when Ferreira will defend her IBF Women's Lightweight World Title against Ferreyra.
It is wild, isn't it, to see that an Olympic medallist must now get into the ring and prove, once more, that she truly belongs among the best boxers in the world? And yet, that is precisely what Beatriz "The Beast" Ferreira will be doing when she takes on Maria Ines "Dinamita" Ferreyra.
The fight that has been dubbed: Ferreira V Ferreyra, will happen on Saturday, 7th June at The Caribe Royale Orlando, and Ferreira will have her IBF lightweight title on the line.
When you consider it, Ferreira's story is quite mad. At Tokyo 2020, she took silver. In Paris 2024, she took bronze. Now she stands unbeaten as a pro with a record of 6-0. The 32-year-old from Brazil doesn't kid around. She won her title by absolutely clobbering Yanina Lescano in April, then made Licia Boudersa look foolish in Monte Carlo to defend the title.
“I know she is no joke, and she is coming for my title, but those are the challenges I want,” said Beatriz Ferreira to the press on April 20, 2025, at the Caribe Royal Resort in Orlando.
Yet, here's the thing—Ferreyra is not merely a fight to sharpen the tools. This 28-year-old from Argentina has been noiselessly establishing herself with a proper run further south. Her ledger reads 11-0-1, with a pleasing six KOs. And although her nickname "Dinamita" obviously was derived from somewhere, her flattening of Johan Paola Gonzalez in winning the South American title shows why it’s well deserved.
This clash of styles is interesting. Ferreira is technically sound and sharp; she has that Olympic pedigree. She can break you down, almost mathematically. Ferreyra is more about raw power. She's the kind of fighter who can change everything with one clean shot. But we saw what happens when you fight an undefeated Olympic medallist with a pedigree as good as Ferreira's.
The Brazilian has been expressing her desire to fight the top women, Caroline Dubois, Terri Harper, and all the big names. But before she can step in the ring with those girls, she's got to get through an undefeated Argentine who is coming to Orlando with nothing to lose.
