Butterbean’s comeback list is growing, and he’s just added another pair of big names to it.

The 58-year-old has already mentioned Jake Paul, Mike Tyson, Brock Lesnar, and Eddie Hall as potential opponents.

He is now focusing on a renowned father-son pairing as he prepares for his comeback to the ring after a 12-year absence.

Butterbean has revealed he is open to fighting John Fury as a warm-up before potentially facing his son, two-time heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Butterbean, who is aiming to test himself against the biggest names in boxing, has added Tyson Fury and his father, John Fury, to an already lengthy list of potential opponents.

Already 58, he has never been shy about expressing his willingness to take on anyone. And that includes Tyson’s 60-year-old dad.

“I’d fight the old man first, beat him up, slap around him pretty good,” Butterbean told The Mirror.

“And then I’d want to beat the son up pretty bad. I would love to fight Tyson Fury.

“You know, I was offered to fight his dad. And it’s been a while back.

“I’d love to fight him, either one of them. But yeah, Tyson Fury is the one I’d really want.”

Butterbean says that John would be nothing more than a warm-up for Tyson: “His dad would be an easy fight. That’d be a couple-rounder. I’d be like, ‘Go out there and just have fun and then get ready for the son.’ It’d be a warm-up fight.

“I mean, now that I believe in myself, I can do anything. And since I’m in such great shape, I know I can accomplish my goals.”

Butterbean explains his return to boxing

After stepping away from combat sports, Butterbean’s weight shot up to 500lbs, leaving him unable to walk and dependent on a wheelchair. It was a stark contrast from his fighting days.

But he turned things around in dramatic fashion, shedding 220 lbs and regaining control of his health. Now, the next step for the veteran is to get back in the ring, looking to extend his self-proclaimed 300-fight record.

“I wanna do one more fight to prove to people that no matter how down you get, if you believe in yourself like I believe in myself, you can accomplish anything,” the former boxer said in an interview with Bloody Elbow.

“I wanna do it this year. Most definitely this year.”
