Canelo Alvarez will let his body decide when his Hall of Fame career ends.

The four-division world champion told CBS Mornings this week that his training sessions will determine his exit from the ring, not the number of candles on his birthday cake. Alvarez, 36, said diminished performance in camp would signal the end. "When I'm there in the gym and I take a lot of punches and then my body doesn't respond in the same way, then I know," he said, per Sherdog. "I'm not going to go and fight with that kind of training. Because in the training, you can see everything in the training camp."

Canelo's Post-Boxing Plans Already Taking Shape

The Mexican icon, who holds more than 60 career wins across four weight classes, said he has little left to prove in boxing. While he still feels sharp during his current sessions, Alvarez acknowledged his competitive bucket list is nearly empty. He has already started mapping out life after the sport. "I have other things to accomplish outside of boxing," he added in the CBS Mornings segment.

Alvarez has not announced a specific retirement date or final fight. His next move in the ring remains unclear, though his camp remarks suggest he remains physically capable for now. The four-belt champion will face that gym-floor reality check before he makes any formal announcement.
