In the boxing world, there is arguably no bigger fight to make than Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford, but the bout has already been handed a number of changes.
Turki Alalshikh has been a driving force in the resurgence of boxing, using his power and wealth to orchestrate some of the biggest fights the sport has ever seen. He intends to do so once again between two of the greatest fighters of their generation, but some hurdles have already been presented.
Following his win over William Scull earlier this month, Canelo Alvarez was confronted in the ring by Terence Crawford. It was announced that the pair would collide for a must-see affair later this year.
Originally, the date was revealed to be September 12. The fight would take place in the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, and would be available to watch live on Netflix.
However, Turki Alalshikh had a change of heart. As revealed by Ring Magazine on X, Alalshikh has decided to push the event back one day to September 13, with New York and Los Angeles accompanying Las Vegas as potential landing spots for the event.
The Canelo Alvarez-Terence Crawford Ring Magazine super middleweight championship fight will now take place on Saturday, September 13th, Turki Alalshikh tells The Ring's Mike Coppinger.

Surprisingly, the showcase will now unfold on the same date as Noche UFC. Turki Alalshikh and Dana White seemingly have a strong friendship, but this news could potentially damage their working relationship.
Following the reports, Turki Alalshikh himself posted on X, telling fans an announcement is on the way regarding the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford fight.
Alalshikh also hinted at the possibility of the bout not being shown on Netflix. The Saudi Arabian adviser declared that a platform for the brawl will be revealed at a later date.
"I will announce at the right time when and where the big fight [between] Canelo and Crawford [is] and [on] which platform!"
