Canelo's 'Cinco de Mayo' Fight Will Have Unusual Start Time.
EFE

Cinco De Mayo is Canelo's holiday we just live in it. As usual Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has a big fight scheduled for Cino De Mayo weekend though this time it will take place in the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia is set to host Canelo Alvarez's next fight and the ring walk time has been adjusted to better fit the schedule of Canelo's core fans in Mexico and the Western United States.

The May 3rd fight between Canelo Alvarez of Mexico and William Scull of Cuba for the undisputed 168lbs title will take place at 6 AM local time in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. Scull brings the IBF title to the equation while Canelo holds the rest of the belts in this division.

Thus, the ring walks for this fight will be even later than other major fights in Saudi Arabia. In the past two years where the main event has been scheduled for or taken place at 2 AM local time. Recent Riyadh Season cards have not included a concert which has been blamed for dragging out the card in the past.

The later start time for this fight will mean that the main event will take place at 11 PM in Eastern Time Zones and 8 PM Los Angeles. This is welcome news for fight fans in the United States.

Conversely the main event will take place at 4 AM in the United Kingdom, not exactly welcome news for British boxing fans.
