Chris Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24 KOs) did not think he was playing with fire.
The former WBA interim middleweight titleholder recently signed with Ben Shalom’s BOXXER. While the signing in itself was rather a quiet affair, it was his recent outburst at the Artur Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KOs) vs. Dmitry Bivol (23-0, 12 KOs) press conference that sent the media lenses into overdrive.
Chris Eubank Jr. just called Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn “scumbags” to their faces in a rant about boxing promoters

At the presser, he was asked about his contract with BOXXER. This was when he went on a rather unnecessary tirade about promoters like Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn, and Kalle Sauerland. “Why BOXXER? Because every other promoter out here is a scumbag. He [turning his sights to Frank Warren] sued me for a couple of hundred thousand a few years ago, so obviously, I’d never go with him. Scumbag,” he said.
Warren was not one to sit quietly while his name was being tarnished. However, his response was muffled as Eubank Jr. continued his rant. “Kalle Sauerland kept me in a terrible contract for several years. Scumbag. Eddie Hearn and Frank Smith tried everything they could to make this Conor Benn fight,” he added.
Warren quickly interjected by asking the people in attendance to pay no heed to Eubank’s words. He even questioned him on why he avoided fighting certain boxers. Eubank Jr, however, chose to ignore those questions. He continued his tirade by stating how Turki Alalshikh is different from the other promoters. “So yes, scumbags. The only one who isn’t is Turki Alalshikh. This is a man who isn’t trying to take money for fighters and use lawyers and accountants in slave contracts,” he said.
Eubank’s statements did not sit well with the founder of Queensberry Promotions. Talking to TalkSport, Warren revealed that he was ready to make him face legal implications. He even mentioned that he has a hard time seeing “an idiot’s mind.”

With a knife hanging over his neck, Eubank Jr. quickly retracted his statements and issued a formal apology. “I would like to retract my inaccurate statements and offer my apologies to Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn, and Kalle Sauerland,” he said. “I now wish to focus purely on boxing and preparing for a huge fight in Riyadh next month.” Warren later responded, stating that he accepts Eubank Jr’s apology and looks forward to seeing him compete on the Riyadh Season card.
