Chris Eubank Jr (35-3, 25 KOs) and Conor Benn (23-1, 14 KOs) are back for yet another showdown on November 15. While the first saw Eubank Jr emerge victorious, he isn’t pleased with how it turned out.

Speaking to Max Kellerman and Mike Coppinger on the Inside the Ring podcast, Eubank Jr was confident that he could perform better and “set the record straight” with a potential rematch.

“I won the first fight, but I won it in a fashion which I was proud of, but at the same time, there was disappointment in that victory. I wanted to make sure that he didn’t see the 12th round. I wanted to make sure that there was no question who the better fighter was,”he said.

Eubank Jr mentioned that this, in turn, allowed Benn to say that “hurt” him and that he (Benn) was “one shot away” from knocking him (Eubank Jr) out. While Eubank Jr believes fans will recognize that Benn is lying, he still wishes the win had been more conclusive.

And now, in preparation for the second fight, he revealed that he has a new approach to his training camp. In the hopes of a more explosive finish, he is working with Terence Crawford’s trainer, Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre.

“I mean, he wasn’t brought in so that I, you know, could get a knockout. I wanted a different camp. You know, I wanted a different set of instructions, a different strategy, a different game plan. You know, I don’t think any top-tier trainer only focuses on, ‘OK, how can we get the knockout for this fight?’” he said. “We’re training for a 12-round war, because that’s what could happen.”

“There Was A Reason”

However, he believes the first fight had to turn out the way it did, as it gave him the drive to make the second fight a bigger spectacle.

“There was a reason that the fight played out the way it played out in April. There’s a reason for that. And it’s up to me now to make sure that I don’t let this guy see the 12th round. I’m not gonna go into why it went 12 rounds. I’m not gonna go into why it was the type of fight that it was. But there’s a chance for the fight to be very different in November,” he said.
