After their epic first bout in April, Eubank Jr and Benn appeared to be on a collision course for a rematch. We know now that it will go down in September, but the venue is yet to be confirmed. The chances are that the two men will return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the second time this year. The national stadium, Wembley is also an option, which boasts a capacity of 90,000.

Their original bout, which took place on April 26th had a bitter build-up, controversial moments in the press conferences and plenty of talking points after the fight. The match-up was built up off the back of their fathers’ rivalry during their boxing careers.

One of the key talking points on the night was the shock return of Chris Eubank Sr to support his son on fight night, something that no one expected. The moment was epic, however.

There are plenty of questions to be asked, however, ahead of the rematch. Firstly is the weight issue. The last bout took place at middleweight; however, Eubank Jr missed weight, costing him a lot of money. In addition, the use of saunas to lose weight is prohibited under the British Boxing Board of Control; however, videos and photos emerged, suggesting that Eubank Jr did in fact use a sauna to get rid of some of the water in his body.

The eventual score of their first bout saw the more experienced Eubank Jr emerge with a victory of 116-112 on all scorecards. After 12 fun rounds, the men left everything in the ring, with Eubank Jr spending two nights in the hospital after the bout with a suspected broken jaw.

Whatever happens in the rematch, whatever the weight, the eyes of the boxing world will be firmly fixed on Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2.
