Chris Eubank Sr. has not been shy to express his thoughts on the Connor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr.

He has been against the fight since it was announced and has had a lot to say about it. Even though it is his son’s fight, he has opted not to be a part of it.

Though the former champion lost a son in 2021, he has not been able to hide his disagreements with his other son, Chris Eubank Jr., and most of this has come out because of the Connor Benn fight and the build-up to the contest.

The two were set to originally fight back in October 2022, but the fight was called off on short notice after Connor Benn failed a drug test and was banned from boxing in Britain until just recently.

In a planned face-off, Chris Eubank Jr. smashed an egg on Connor Benn's face, and this did not go well with his father. It was quite disappointing to the former boxing champion, and he did not hold back in expressing his disgust.

“Junior, you are smashing an egg against this guy's face. I taught you that? I did not teach you that. Who taught you that? Did Karen teach you that? That’s disgraceful! I’m gonna stand in your corner? You must be mad! I would never be in your corner, you are a disgrace,” said Chris Eubank Sr.

He went ahead to call out Matchroom Boxing for encouraging this type of behaviour. Eubank Jr. was given a fine to pay, but his dad thinks it was not enough to cover up his behaviour.

“These promoters have no care for boxing and the standards of boxing and the noble art that boxing is. No bad language, no hitting people with eggs, and then actually promoting it. Is this what we are now? Is this what it has come to now? Is this what we are? Is this who we are?” said Chris Eubank Sr.

With the contest set for April 26, 2025, the former champion has decided he will not be in his son’s corner for the fight and does not support this contest, as even the weights are a mismatch, and this might be catastrophic for the fighters. It should not just be about the money, the fighter's well-being and safety should also matter.
