Deontay Wilder had insane power, according to a previous opponent.
During his time in boxing, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has showcased his dynamite hands on many an occasion.
Wilder has savagely rendered Artur Szpilka unconscious, stopped Bermane Stiverne and finished Luis Ortiz twice.
And now, one of his old rivals has opened up about what it’s like to take a punch from the former WBC heavyweight world champion.
Sheesh: Deontay Wilder tells crazy story of coming face to face with sharks… ‘Never panic’
It took Deontay Wilder less than a round to finish Malik Scott, who’d eventually become his trainer.
The retired fighter has candidly discussed why the Alabama brawler’s punches stand out from the pack.
In an interview with First Round TV, he said: “I used to spar with Lennox Lewis and Wladimir Klitschko.
“Deontay Wilder’s power gets there so quickly with the heavy hands. You got some people who say it felt like a truck, or a bat; I just knew that it felt like something I’d never experienced at that time.
“All power is different. Lennox had thudding, heavy bag power; Wladimir had striking power. Vitali Klitschko is a whole monster with his power, the best shortest puncher that can hurt you from the six-inch range.
“But Deontay, is putting everything into, we all know the shot, I wouldn’t say a master, but he got very good at getting his shot there, even if you knew it was coming.”
Scott isn’t the only boxer who’s succumbed to Wilder’s bombs.
In fact, very few fighters who’ve set foot inside the squared circle with the power puncher have emerged unscathed.
Reflecting on his career, Wilder revealed his favorite knockout.
