Eddie Hearn reveals exactly what he would say to Conor Benn should they meet ringside

Eddie Hearn’s frustration towards Conor Benn remains clear ahead of his next event.

Benn recently signed a $15 million one-fight deal with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing, a decision that caught Hearn off guard and effectively ended their working relationship.

The breakdown came despite the boxing promoter attempting to speak with Benn before the agreement was finalised.

In that context, many fans think there is a chance Benn could appear at the George Liddard vs Tyler Denny event this Saturday, since he has links to the card through stablemate Conor Mitchell.

However, the British promoter thinks it will not happen.

Hearn made it clear there would be no warm reunion if the two cross paths.

“‘You’re a dog mate.’ Probably that,” Hearn replied when asked what he would say to Benn should they see each other at the event (via Pro Boxing Fans).

The 46-year-old then added: “He wouldn’t come tomorrow. Mate, he wouldn’t even phone me. What’s he going to do? Phone up and ask for a ticket?

“At the end of the day, he does work on the team of Conor Mitchell. And by the way, it will never affect Conor Mitchell because he’s a phenomenal fighter. But if I see him, I would have to say, like, I wouldn’t, obviously, start on him, but I would have to say, I couldn’t, I couldn’t be like, ‘Hey mate. Hi.’ I’d have to say, ‘I’ve got to tell you something, mate. You’re an absolute dog.’”

The comments underline just how strained the relationship has become following Benn’s decision.

Eddie Hearn admits he was ‘devastated’ by Benn’s Zuffa deal

Hearn has already spoken about the emotional impact of the move, describing the situation in stark terms.

“I’m pretty devastated. Very, very surprising, very, very painful. I actually received an email from Conor Benn’s lawyer to make me aware of it,” he said when the news broke last month.

Benn’s switch to Zuffa Boxing represents a major shift in his career path, and one that has clearly left Hearn feeling blindsided.

With tensions still high, any potential meeting on fight night would be difficult to ignore.
