The biggest fight (likely exhibition) between two legends that could happen was recently announced. Floyd Mayweather Jr. will face Mike Tyson in the Spring of 2026, according to a press release sent out by CSI Sports/ FIGHT SPORTS.

This comes as a huge surprise, as Mayweather mainly campaigned in the welterweight/junior middleweight divisions while Tyson was the undisputed heavyweight champion. With Tyson looking like a shell of his former self when he faced Jake Paul in November 2024, it likely gave Mayweather all the incentive that he needed to sign up for this exhibition.

In the press release, Tyson said, “When CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather,” he said. “I thought, ‘No way this happens,’ but Floyd said yes.

“This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable—and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets.

“I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed and it’s happening!

While Tyson is in shock that Mayweather would accept such a fight, the “Money Mayweather” sees this as another opportunity for a huge payday.

I’ve been doing this for 30 years and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” said Mayweather. “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.

This CSI Sports and FIGHT SPORTS have recently hit the ground running with key personnel being added by the day. Here is a breakdown of those involved, in case anyone doubts that this event will happen by 2026.

 “CSI SPORTS
