Tevin Farmer had no clue on how quick his night was going to end but Floyd Schofield came out blazing and absolutely blitz Farmer. Once Schofield landed that hook that landed flush on Farmer’s chin signaled the beginning of the end for him and he hit the mat. Shortly after Farmer would be hit with another combination that would floor him again. He would get back up only to be stopped shortly as Floyd Schofield (19-0, 13 KO) scored a knock out in only 97 seconds in the first round.

This performance is viewed as some sort redemption for Schofield. In February cancellation of a WBC lightweight title fight against Shakur Stevenson in Saudi Arabia. Where Schofield’s father claimed his son was poisoned. There was a controversy circling those allegations. Mentally that ordeal seemed to have a bad effect on Schofield.

“I never had doubt just reading the comments. It just made me feel like a lot of people switched up on me because of one incident. My dad kept me focused, my baby son kept me focused, he’s my pride and joy and I’ll fight to the death for him. He’s going to know his dad is a warrior.”

Next in line?

Without a doubt Schofield looked great. But now it’s time to fight for the belt. Even so that it could be against his stalemate. But Zepeda has his hands full against Stevenson. Oscar De La Hoya wants Floyd Schofield to be next in line.

“You saw the future star at 135 lbs. He put everybody on notice,” promoter Oscar De La Hoya said, adding that he’d like to see Schofield face the Stevenson vs Zepeda winner.
