"Platinum" Mike Perry made his name competing in the UFC but signed with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship last fall, as first reported by Damon Martin of MMA Fighting. Most recently, Perry notched a victory over Michael "Venom" Page at the BKFC 27 show in London this past weekend, but the 30-year-old is already thinking about what comes next.
Perry told TMZ Sports that he wants to face none other than YouTube personality and boxer Jake Paul. Paul previously earned wins inside the squared circle over big names such as former NBA player Nate Robinson and former UFC fighter Tyron Woodley.
"Jake Paul, I know you hear me, I know you see me," Perry said during the "TMZ Sports" program that aired on FS1 late Wednesday night. "If you want to be solidified as a real athlete, as a real fighter, and not someone who just fights tomato cans and basketball players — you want to be a real boxer, then 'Platinum' Perry is the opponent for you, buddy."
Perry made it clear he's not interested in going viral by calling the "Problem Child" out.
"We can add the animosity, but I'm in a good place in life and I'm not tripping on you bro, you can run from me if you want," Perry continued. "That's cool. I'm not gonna chase you, but I'm right here when you're ready."
As noted by ESPN, Perry lost four of his final five UFC bouts and last fought in the promotion in April 2021.
It's unclear if Paul has any interest in boxing Perry this fall or before the year comes to an end.
"I can move on to other things," Perry added. "I got other options. This is my business, the sport of fighting is an open world to me. So, whatever they wanna do, I'm down like a clown with a frown, bro."
