O'Shaquie Foster unified three 130-pound world titles Saturday night, flooring Emanuel Navarrete twice in the final round to cap a one-sided performance. The American now holds the WBC, IBF and WBO belts after a decisive victory, ESPN reports.
Navarrete, moving up from featherweight where he held multiple titles, could not solve Foster's movement and timing over 12 rounds. The Mexican fighter absorbed the two knockdowns in the closing frame but survived to the final bell.
Foster's next target is a showdown with Shakur Stevenson, who holds the WBA strap at junior lightweight. A bout between the two would crown an undisputed champion at 130 pounds.
Stevenson, who has long campaigned for the biggest fights available, represents the final obstacle to Foster collecting all four major belts. The unified champion made clear his intention to pursue that matchup in the coming months.
The victory marks Foster's second defense since reclaiming the WBC belt earlier this year. Navarrete falls to his second straight loss after dropping a decision in his previous outing.
