Garcia Tells Benn He Won't Last Five Rounds

Ryan Garcia expects a short night when he defends his WBC welterweight title against Conor Benn on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Garcia and Benn hold their final press conference Thursday at 8 p.m. ET before the Zuffa Boxing card streams on Paramount+ this weekend. The two sluggers have already exchanged heated words at multiple promotional appearances, and Garcia told MMA Mania he plans to finish Benn early. "This won't go past five," he said. "It'll be five and below, is what I'm calling."

Garcia's Camp Fuels Stoppage Prediction

The champion credited his preparation for the confidence heading into his first title defense since shutting out Mario Barrios earlier this year, per MMA Mania. "I prepared amazingly and I'm just better at the game than him, and that's just simple," Garcia said. "He's going to be game, can't deny that, he's going to be coming at me nonstop, but I'm just a little bit more skillful than him and now I'm super conditioned so he's going to have a bad night."

Benn enters on a two-fight win streak over Regis Prograis and Chris Eubank Jr., the latter a rematch after Eubank handed him his first career loss in 2025. Garcia is coming off the Barrios shutout but stumbled against Rolando Romero before that.

The final press conference streams live Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. First bell is scheduled for Saturday night in Las Vegas.
