Gervonta Davis is in custody, ending a two-week search by local police and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

The arrest follows a warrant issued on January 14 following an incident on October 27, 2025, at Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami Gardens. Davis is facing multiple charges, including battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping.

According to court documents and surveillance footage corroborated by the Miami Gardens Police Department, the incident involved Davis’ ex-girlfriend, who was working as a VIP server at the club. Police allege Davis grabbed her by the hair and throat, forcefully attempting to lead her to his vehicle. Police noted visible bruising on Rossel’s arm. 

This has had consequences for Davis’ career. The WBA officially stripped Davis of his lightweight world title, reclassifying him as “Champion in Recess.” In addition to the criminal charges, Rossel has filed a civil suit seeking over $50,000 in damages. Davis is expected to appear before a Miami-Dade County judge this week to enter a plea.

“The Miami Gardens Police Department remains committed to protecting victims, holding offenders accountable, and ensuring the safety of our community,” the department said
