A judge has issued an arrest warrant for Gervonta Davis, as the boxer faces more legal trouble.

The warrant, citing a violation of his probation, arrives just six days after Davis was apprehended in Florida following a manhunt. The violation is from a 2020 hit-and-run conviction in Baltimore, where Davis was serving a three-year probation sentence, 90 days of house arrest and 200 hours of community service.

Under the terms of that agreement, any new criminal arrest constitutes a breach, potentially triggering the activation of a previously suspended prison sentence. This warrant came after Davis was accused of battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping against an ex in October 2025.

According to police reports, Davis is accused of grabbing her by the throat and hair and attempting to force her into a vehicle. Davis was taken into custody and released the following day on an $8,500 bond. This latest setback casts further doubt on Davis’ career, as the boxer has not fought since his controversial majority draw against Lamont Roach Jr.

“Mr. Davis has appeared as directed, posted bond, complied with all conditions, remained within Florida, and promptly notified supervision of his arrest. Detaining him in Maryland would frustrate, not facilitate, compliance by impairing his ability to defend the Florida case and creating substantial logistical barriers to court appearances,” Hunter Pruette (Davis’ attorney)
