The Gervonta Davis next fight news should arrive in the next few months, but until then we offer up three likely opponents for his return to action and look back at his latest knockout victory.

Who will Gervonta Davis next fight be against?

Gervonta Davis made his return to action in June after 14 months away from the fight game. And while he showed a little ring rust early, it didn’t stop him from scoring the 28th knockout victory of his career. When he does return to the ring, hopefully in the fall, his next foe is likely to be Ryan Garcia, Vasiliy Lomachenko, or Shakur Stevenson.

Rematch: Ryan Garcia unexpectedly popped up and pushed for a rematch of their 2023 bout while congratulating Davis after his win. After Garcia scored a shocking victory over Devin Haney recently, there is a renewed interest in a rematch.
Battle for the top spot: In various lightweight rankings, Vasiliy Lomachenko is viewed as the second-best fighter in the division — after Davis. A scrap between the two best talents at 135 pounds makes too much sense.
The rising star: Shakur Stevenson is quickly becoming the next big thing at lightweight. He has been pushing for a fight with Davis this year, but the question is will “Tank” take the risk of a serious challenge from a less well-known fighter?

Gervonta Davis took on the challenge of up-and-coming star Frank Martin in June, and although Martin did well early in the bout and was up on the scorecards, “Tank” was able to solve the puzzle and score a destructive KO victory in Round 8.

What happened: Frank Martin gave the WBA champion trouble for much of the pairs scrap. After seven rounds he was actually up by a good amount on the judges’ cards. However, Davis is the hardest hitter at lightweight and proved it when he was patient, kept working, and scored a one-punch knockout in the eighth round.

The kid from Maryland has had several run-ins with the law, including arrests for punching a friend in 2017, a domestic altercation with his girlfriend in 2020, and several charges for a hit-and-run in 2021.
