Carl Froch has developed his own social media presence since he retired from professional boxing. His Froch on Fighting page has seen many boxing personalities appear, while Froch gives his take on all things boxing. One fighter he has who has felt his wrath is YouTuber-turned cruiserweight professional Jake Paul, and when speaking to Poker Strategy, Froch sent a brutal message to “El Gallo.”
Paul will be back in action on June 28 against former WBC world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Many see this as his biggest test but it remains to be seen what condition Chavez will be in and what desire he has left. In the co-main event at the Honda Center in Anaheim on DAZN PPV, we will see WBO & WBA unified cruiserweight champion Gilberto Ramirez against the former IBF & WBA cruiserweight world champion and the current WBA mandatory challenger Yuniel Dorticós.
Will we see Froch-Paul in the future? One thing for certain is there will never be any love lost between the two, with Froch ripping into Paul during his interview with Poker Strategy: “Jake Paul cannot bring himself to mention my name anymore, or answer anymore questions because he knows the more he talks…and don’t forget, he started talking about me.
“I’ll happily step in and knock his teeth down the back of his throat just for the sake of boxing. He knows I’ll happily fight him. Jake Paul’s a little b**ch, man. He’s not gonna fight anybody.”
Carl Froch enjoyed a memorable career. “The Cobra” retired with a record of 33-2, 24 KOs, with his two defeats coming against Mikkel Kessler and Andre Ward. Froch had exceptional durability and would carry power throughout a fight, no matter what happened previously. He recorded impressive wins against George Groves, Mikkel Kessler and Arthur Abraham.
It is hard to overlook his come-from-behind stoppage win against Jermain Taylor when looking back at his career. He was down 106-102 on two of the scorecards and needed a knockout in the final round, and sensationally got the stoppage with 14 seconds remaining.
