Hitchins Looks To Be Next At 140

IBF Junior welterweight champion Richardson Hitchins and former undisputed junior welterweight champion George Kambosos Jr do not like each other at all. But that couldn’t be more apparent at their final face off before their weight in ahead of their championship fight this Saturday is New York, New York.

The two fighters’ trash talking meters were at a maximum. Both fighters are motivated for two different reasons. Kambosos Jr is fighting with his career on the line. This fight is most likely his last chance at a title shot. Losing this fight will assure that he’ll be looking at retirement as a real option moving forward.

Trash Talking 101

Hitchins is looking to use Kambosos as a stepping stone to getting to the next level and being able to go after the elites in a loaded 140 weight class. Hitchins repeatedly said that he’s going to stop Kambosos in a promo face off. Once the two met again in their latest face off, things became very heated.

“You know I ain’t going nowhere. Run from you? You ain’t got nothing for me. I promise I’m gonna stop you. Right in your face all night. Easy work, easy f*cking work. I’ve been here a billion times, (I’m) world champ for a reason. This sh*t ain’t going nowhere, it’s saying in New York. He don’t believe in himself. I bet you I stop you, you bum. F*ck you. He’s getting knocked the f*ck out.”

Kambosos Jr clearly was more reserved in his trash talking efforts but was definitely trying to strike a nerve on Hitchins.

I know where you’re going – run, run, run, run, run. Your breath stinks bro, you stink. That talk’s easy, brother. I’m smarter than you.”

Something has to give Saturday night. Hitchins perfect record (19-0, 7KOs) and aspirations of throwing his hat into bigger fights and better paydays. Or will it be George Kambosos Jr (22-3, 10KOs) who will salvage his career and give himself more options instead of fading into the sunset.
