Homicide Probe Launched In Gatti Jr.’s Death

The authorities have now turned Arturo Gatti Jr.’s death into a homicide investigation. 

Arturo Gatti Jr., the son of the deceased Arturo “Thunder” Gatti, was found hanging in a Mexico apartment, which he had been at with his mother Amanda Rodrigues. The news came as a shock, especially since the 17-year-old’s death came after the 2009 death of Gatti Sr. where the authorities ruled that a suicide. This was after they initially arrested Rodrigues before releasing her. Versace Gatti, a cousin of Gatti Jr. has now spoken out, stating that there is an investigation ongoing. A GoFundMe campaign has already surpassed $25,000, with a further $16,000 goal set to fund a forensic review.

Chuck Zito, who was Gatti’s ex-bodyguard and close friend, previously spoke on the matter. He was clear that Gatti’s death was not what was being reported, claiming he had been murdered. 

“I can’t comment on Arturo Gatti because not only was I his bodyguard and walked him into the ring for many of his fights, but he was also a very dear friend of mine, and I’m a little biased toward Arturo.
