Naoya Inoue isn’t slowing down. Fresh off a dominant performance against Murodjon Akhmadaliev. The undisputed junior featherweight champion (31-0, 27 KOs) is set to close out 2025 with his third fight of the year his busiest campaign since 2013. The pound-for-pound superstar will defend his crown against unbeaten Mexican contender Alan David Picasso (32-0-1, 17 KOs) in the main event of Ring V: Night of the Samurai on Dec. 27 at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, streamed globally on DAZN.
Picasso, 25, enters as the third undefeated opponent of Inoue’s career, having earned a July victory over Kyonosuke Kameda. For Inoue, the fight serves as another step toward a potential 2026 mega-clash with fellow Japanese champion Junto Nakatani.

Unified WBC/IBF bantamweight champion Junto Nakatani (31-0, 24 KOs) continues his march toward a long-anticipated showdown with Inoue. Nakatani, who is expected to vacate his 118-pound titles to move up. Will meet Sebastian Hernandez (20-0, 18 KOs) in a battle of unbeatens.
Former two-weight champion Kenshiro Teraji (33-2, 19 KOs), who lost his flyweight belts in July, will move up to 115 pounds in pursuit of a third division title. He challenges IBF super flyweight ruler Willibaldo Garcia (23-6-2, 13 KOs), looking to bounce back from his upset loss to Ricardo Rafael Sandoval.
The card also showcases Japan’s next wave of elite talent:
Taiga Imanaga (9-0, 5 KOs), fresh off winning the JBC lightweight crown, takes on Cuban puncher Armando Martinez (16-0, 15 KOs) in a high-stakes test at 135 pounds.
Reito Tsutsumi (3-0, 2 KOs) faces his toughest opponent yet in Leobardo Quintana (11-1, 5 KOs).
Hayato Tsutsumi (8-0, 5 KOs) challenges Liverpool’s Jazza Dickens (36-5, 15 KOs), who shocked Albert Batyrgaziev to claim the WBA interim super featherweight title earlier this year.
With Inoue headlining and an undercard stacked with title bouts and rising Japanese stars, Ring V: Night of the Samurai further underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to hosting blockbuster combat sports events.
The event caps off an unprecedented 2025 campaign for Inoue who remains unbeaten, undisputed, and squarely in the global pound-for-pound conversation while setting the stage for what could be one of the biggest all-Japanese showdowns in boxing history against Junto Nakatani in 2026.
