Jake Paul’s preparation for his next fight has not been lacking in intensity.

The social media star turned boxer is preparing for a huge mismatch against Anthony Joshua, and he is not exactly keeping things low key.

His sparring partners have included top heavyweight contenders like Frank Sanchez, Lawrence Okolie, and Jared Anderson – all solid names to help him get ready for what lies ahead.

Recently, Jake was seen with a black eye from sparring. Now, he is dealing with an even more serious issue – an injury that might affect his performance on December 19.

Paul, gearing up for the biggest fight of his career, recently chatted with Pat McAfee about how preparations have been going.

During their 15-minute talk, McAfee brought up what appeared to be a broken nose.

“It’s getting more crooked, brother,” said ‘The Problem Child’, who holds a 12-1 record.

“I’m not gonna lie. Sparring the heavyweights, my nose has moved a couple of millimetres this camp.

“A guy by the name of Frank Sanchez, he definitely cracked it a little bit.

“So, I definitely have a slight little something in there.

“Yeah, man, it’s bad. Look at that, dude. I’m like Squidward, dog.”

Jake Paul’s strategy

Paul said he intends to take AJ into the later rounds before looking for a knockout.

“I don’t think he can knock me out because he’s not going to be able to line up his shots properly to be able to land the hard punch,” he began by saying.

“I think it’s going to be a very tough fight for multiple rounds, but then when I figure out his pacing, his style, his speed, his footwork, he’s going to get a little bit tired trying to chase me around, and then I’m going to set up the shot.

“I’m not going to say exactly what, but I see what it is and I think it will end in the fifth or sixth round.”

The issue for Paul is that his broken nose could make that plan difficult. He will likely have trouble breathing through it once again and may need an oxygen tank between rounds.

This is not just a minor inconvenience. It could slow him down and leave him more vulnerable in exchanges.
