Jake Paul is open to fighting his brother, Logan Paul, following his fight against Mike Tyson.
Jake picked up a reported $40 million for facing off against Tyson in Netflix’s first-ever boxing fight. He came out victorious with a unanimous decision win in one of the biggest events in recent history. The event set numerous records, such as being watched by 108 million viewers worldwide. The live gate was also at $18,117,072, making a record for a non-Las Vegas event. That has set the narrative for further big fights.
As Jake discussed his potential opponents, one of those mentioned was his brother Logan. Logan does have a history of boxing, having faced off against KSI. He came up short in the KSI fight, losing narrowly in a split decision. Meanwhile, he also had an exhibition against Floyd Mayweather while also beating Dillon Danis in his last fight.
A fight against Logan Paul could sell, as it pits the two brothers against each other. Logan has chosen to focus on his WWE career since the Danis fight. He has also put more effort into his PRIME drinks brand. However, an opportunity with Jake could come about, potentially setting the seed for another record-breaking event.
Jake: “Yeah, I’ll fight you. Why not? You’re tiny.”
Logan: “It would just be good.”
Jake: “I would be down because it would suck to be the one that has to deal with losing, but I wouldn’t be the one that would have to deal with that.”
Logan: “I have the opposite perspective. I feel like ruining my little brother’s boxing career would be so bad and mean. People would be, like, ‘You’re such a bad older brother’ like they already say, ‘but now you ruined his career as well?”
If the Logan fight does not happen, there are others waiting in the wings. Jake has recently been called out by Artur Beterbiev and Daniel Dubois. Paul responded by showing a preference for facing Dubois, although that is unlikely since Daniel is in a position to face off against the winner of Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk for the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship. Another fighter who has indicated his desire to face Paul is Andre Ward.
Ward is a former super middleweight and light heavyweight champion who is currently 40 years old. He retired in 2017 after he beat Sergey Kovalev for the second time. While Ward has been linked with a return previously, namely against Canelo Alvarez, it never happened. Since his retirement, he has been putting his effort behind commentary and as a boxing analyst. But he was recently asked about whether he would want to fight. Ward said he would be willing to have a conversation.
“I am open for a discussion. Since you (Paul) like fighting older guys, I’m an older guy. I haven’t touched a ring in seven years, so I think it would be interesting,” Ward said
