Just weeks after his loss in a boxing match against Anthony Joshua, social media influencer Jake Paul has now been suspended indefinitely, for his own good. Last year on Dec. 19, 2025, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, Joshua defeated Paul in the sixth round of their boxing match.

However, the closing moments of the match saw Joshua land a hard punch on Paul’s jaw, breaking it in two places. On Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026, the Florida Athletic Commission confirmed Paul’s indefinite medical suspension, per MMA Fighting. The report noted that Paul will not be able to fight again until he gets cleared by a physician. The loss against Joshua resulted in Paul’s first knockout loss and second career loss.

Despite avoiding Joshua for the majority of the match, the “Watford Warrior” started dominating from the fifth round and effectively trapped Paul in the corner during the sixth round. There he unloaded a fury of punches, including the heavy right hook that broke the YouTuber’s jaw. Throughout the bout, Joshua landed 48 punches but only received 16 in return. He officially landed three knockdowns in the sixth round and secured his victory.

While Paul was immediately moved to a hospital for recovery, Joshua travelled with his friends to his hometown in Nigeria. Unfortunately, tragedy struck, and Joshua was involved in a fatal car crash, which killed two of his friends and injured him.

Just hours after Jake Paul’s humiliating loss against Joshua, UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan issued a serious health warning to Paul. Rogan also suspected several long-term damages to Paul after the fight.

“Don’t do this very long because there’s a price that you pay that is not worth it,” Rogan said. “And that price is depression, deep depression, a severe brain imbalance that’s going to lead you to addiction. It leads so many people to impulsive behavior. So many people become gambling addicts, drug addicts, alcoholics after their fighting career.”
