Jake Paul defeats Julio Cesar Chavez  in front of a sold out pro Chavez crowd at the Honda Center with scores of 99-91, 97-93 and 98-92. Chavez Jr. is the last victim that makes the Jake Paul hitlist. This victory was easy work for Paul and now he’s looking for bigger fights moving forward. Paul improves to (12-1, 7KOs) with ever more momentum that he’s created.

“He’s a tough guy,” Paul said. “He’s never been stopped and he’s a Mexican warrior. I respect Mexican warriors. I respect Mexico, but I’m also a warrior and I came out on top tonight.”

“It was flawless,” Paul said. “I think I only got hit 10 times. He just survived and thought I did great. Going 10 rounds against a former world champion who’s never been stopped. He’s in there with Canelo, all of these guys, and I embarrassed him like that.”

Chavez Jr. is exactly what we thought he was. An washed up formed champion. Who was selected to be Jake Paul’s next victim. Will Chavez Jr. will be a man of his word remains to be seen. When interviewed this week, Chavez Jr. said that he would retire if he lost to Jake Paul. It’s time to pony up and hang the gloves up.

End of the road for Chavez Jr.

The one thing that Chavez Jr. does have is a fan base who wasn’t happy with the fight and let Jake Paul here it in the post fight interview. The crowd showered him with boo’s.

“All the boo’s are words, and actions speak louder than words, so y’all can shut the f— up!” Paul said in the post fight interview while making taunting gestures to the crowd. “I’m hip, I’m really hip, I just beat your boy’s a–, easy work, year five, wait till I get going even more motherf—ers!”

Step up in competition next?

It  Seems like Paul is serious about facing tougher opponents by fighting for a world title. Paul will have his chance to do exactly that by scheduling someone that’s on the same quest. But talk is cheap and boxing fans will have to see it to believe it. Paul called out a few fighters so it clearly looks like he’s going after it.

“I want tougher fighters and I want to be a world champion,” Paul said. “‘Zurdo’ Ramirez looked slow tonight. That’s easy work. I want Badou Jack. Tommy Fury can get it too. Stop running from me, Tommy.”
