Jake Paul is either never going to box again, or is setting up to face one of the greatest fighters of the modern era.

The controversial YouTuber-turned-boxer suffered a broken jaw back in December when he was knocked out by Anthony Joshua in Miami. Six months later, he still has yet to return to sparring and is awaiting news on whether or not he will ever compete again.

However, should he be given the green light he wants to waste no time and get straight to work with some major names. And he has teased that he may have started to reignite talks with Canelo Alvarez to revive their super-fight from last year.

Jake Paul reignites talks with Canelo Alvarez in secret phone call

In the very same interview where Jake Paul noted that his fighting career may be over altogether, he also managed to sneak in a tease of his biggest fight yet. The cruiserweight contender, who once held a WBA ranking, claimed to have reignited talks with Canelo Alvarez after their failed fight last year.

Contracts were drawn up and a deal was closing in for Paul and Alvarez to have an unlikely Cinco De Mayo weekend super-fight in Las Vegas. But Turki Alalshikh swooped in with a massive multi-fight deal that included the sport’s biggest bout with Terence Crawford and the fight fell by the wayside.

But with Alvarez not just losing to Crawford but looking his most human in doing so, a bout with Paul might now not seem as silly as it once did. And in a new video shared to his media company Betr, he made his callout official and even shared some behind the scenes footage.

“$200 million dollars for you,” Paul says at one point in the video. “This is the biggest fight that can be made in boxing. Canelo said he’s down on the phone.”
