Jake Paul boxes Anthony Joshua on December 19 in the biggest bout of his career, as they exchanged heated words during their final presser.

Paul enters the fight as a massive underdog, with the odds placed at +650 to pull off the upset. However, names such as Nate Diaz and Tim Bradley have bet big bucks on Jake to pull off the win. Hollywood producer Jon Peters even went so far as to place a $5 million bet on Jake to win. The resume suggests Paul will struggle to deliver. He has boxed mostly MMA fighters and his sole loss came against Tommy Fury, a pro boxer who is hardly a big name. However, Paul enters the bout with a win over former WBC Middleweight Champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Meanwhile, Joshua faces all the pressure heading into this fight, knowing a loss is catastrophic to his career. He has plenty to prove, having been knocked out in his last fight against Daniel Dubois in September 2024. Joshua’s last win was against Francis Ngannou in March 2024, as a victory would put him in a position to face Tyson Fury if the latter comes out of retirement.

Presser

“If we look at the people that don’t want me to be here. But want me to put an end to ‘the Jake Paul show.’ I understand it, and that’s why I carry boxing on my back with this fight,” Joshua

“It’s a chance for me to showcase my skills. What an opportunity, man. That was one of the reasons I wanted to take this fight, it was a great opportunity. I saw what this means. It’s not even my biggest payday; it’s not about money. For me, it was about the opportunity to showcase my skills to the world,” Joshua

“No one has done more for the sport of boxing in the last decade than myself,” Paul said.”So if people cared about boxing, they would want me to win. But I see the angle they’re coming from in the sense that he’s been doing it all his life. I think that I’m more important for boxing, so if they cared about the sport, they would want me to win,” Paul

“I believe he’s locked in. He knows that this could potentially be the biggest loss and will be the biggest loss of his career. And he has so much to lose. That’s what I plan on bringing to the table.  I’ve got him in the corner, and I know that those nerves are going to kick in once he sees what I can do today,” Paul
