Despite being one of the most highly anticipated fights of 2025, Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua is not being received well by the fans.
Next Friday night on December 19, Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua will step into the ring for their highly anticipated heavyweight boxing clash in Miami, Florida.
As is often the case when the internet sensation turned boxer fights, it is being marred as the most controversial fight of 2025, especially because of the huge size difference between the two.
And because of it being embroiled in controversy, it hasn’t exactly been received well by the combat sports fans, more specifically by the ones who like to attend the events live.
With just under a week until the event, ticket availability has surfaced online with there seemingly still thousands of tickets available, for as cheap as $62.
The Kaseya Center has a capacity of around 20,000, but it seems unlikely that the fight garners anywhere near that amount considering the current state of availability.
“Do they go into the low $30’s? No buzz it feels,” one fan commented.
“12-year-old’s generally don’t have live event money,” another fan said in reference to Paul’s fan demographic.
“He should’ve fought Joshua in the UK,” a third fan suggested.
Despite being a big fan in the UK due to his title credentials, Joshua has only fought in the United States once, and he was on the end of one of the biggest boxing upsets of all time when he lost to Andy Ruiz Jr.
“Damn, he ain’t selling s—,” another fan commented.
“Seems Jake Paul as a general concept is kind of lukewarm, looking at these ticket sales,” said another fan.

Despite the lackluster ticket sales, the event will likely still be profitable due to the amount of money paid by Netflix for it to be live-streamed exclusively to their platform.
Considering the upcoming event is selling poorly, it is likely that if Paul goes on to lose, as he is expected to, he may not end up fighting in the sport again.
Especially considering the fact that his fight against Joshua is by far the most anticipated of his short career.
