Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis headlines a Most Valuable Promotions fight card on November 14, live on Netflix at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
This controversial 10-round exhibition bout has attracted plenty of criticism due to the huge 65lbs weight difference between the two. As we edge closer to fight night, we’re taking a look at the Jake Paul vs Tank Davis odds for November 14, with betting interest rising among users of various sportsbooks and Apple Pay casino platforms.
When looking at the Jake Paul vs Tank Davis odds currently available for this exhibition, many have Gervonta Davis as the narrow favourite, despite the huge weight disparity.
Betting platforms in the UK are pricing Tank as around a 4/7 favourite, with Paul mainly priced up at 6/4.
In the U.S., it depends where you look, but the odds are fairly close, with Tank priced at -165 and Paul at +125.
When speaking to people in boxing, some feel Tank will be too slick for Paul, while others favour Paul’s power as a clear advantage. Recently, Lamont Roach expressed his disappointment about the exhibition and his own failed rematch negotiations with the Baltimore fighter: He went and took a circus show fight, and you know, he said he was gonna retire. I believe him.”
When asked why Roach believes Jake Paul vs Tank is a circus show fight, he said:
“It’s just for s---s and giggles. Jake Paul’s f------ 200 pounds, and he’s whatever he is, so…”
Roach was also asked if he believes Davis has ducked him:
“For sure, you can call a spade a spade, for sure,” said Roach.
“We’re contracted to fight, and you go and take another fight, you breach that contract, and you go take another fight, that’s a clear duck, added Roach.”
At a New York press conference, the rules for this 10-round exhibition were revealed by MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian:
Bidarian explained to the press in attendance: “There will be a victor because the fighters have agreed, and the commission has approved,” revealed Bidarian when speaking to the press in attendance. “[There will be] a maximum weight of 195 pounds for this exhibition. The fight will be contested over 10 three-minute rounds, and when Tank and Jake enter the squared circle to go to battle, they will be wearing 12-ounce gloves.” Due to the nature of this fight, will many want to bet on it? The intensity and motivation of each fighter remain unclear. Will we see a glorified sparring session? A Jake Paul KO, or a Gervonta Davis boxing lesson? The undercard for this main event is impressive and will help pull in boxing aficionados to watch the card. It’s a difficult bout to get excited for, due to the weight disparity and Davis’ seemingly waning levels of desire.
