Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KOs) and Fabio Wardley (19-0-1, 18 KOs) are all set to fight it out for Parker’s interim WBO title at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday. While fans are expecting a close fight with a nail-biting finish, it sure looks like both fighters have already decided who will emerge victorious.

Parker and Wardley faced the media once again for their final press conference. In conversation, Parker was sure to remind both Wardley and the people in attendance that he had nothing but victory in his mind.

“For me, this is all or nothing. I am not really thinking about losing this fight; I am going into this fight to win. And when I win, I will be going onto the next fight. I respect my opponent and what he has done in his career and how he has prepared for this fight, but I am a different level, to be honest. And I am going to show it on Saturday night,” he said.

He urged that he still has “many miles” on the clock and many more to bring in. In fact, he is confident he is just getting into his prime.

Meanwhile, he was all praise for his upcoming opponent, commending him for taking up the fight. However, he also made it a point to remind him that he picked the fight at the wrong time, as he was going to “smash him”.

“He picked this fight, and I said yes to every fight, so we both want this fight,” he said. “He believes in himself, but I know I am going to win this fight. He is going to learn that it is okay to have a loss, and he has got enough time to climb back.”

“It Takes More Than Muscles”

Wardley, on the other hand, is certain that Parker is building castles in the sky. Coming in strong with a response to Parker, Wardley mentioned that he is relishing the challenge and confident in his ability to win.

“I look forward to stepping up and proving people wrong, showing people that I am very much at the top level in this division,” he said. “I don’t know if it is positive or negative, really, that everyone focuses on my power, knocking opponents out. My record speaks for itself, and I guess in that case it draws away from my boxing skills and ability. I think anyone with an educated brain in boxing knows that it takes more than muscles and a bit of strength to knock someone out.”
