Joseph Parker, the WBO Interim Heavyweight Champion, boxes Fabio Wardley on October 25, as we preview this upcoming fight.

Parker arrives into the fight in some great form. He knocked out Martin Bakole in February, taking his win streak to six on the spin. In his last three fights, Parker has beaten Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang and Bakole. Meanwhile, Wardley knocked out Justis Huni in June. That was his second stoppage on the spin, having knocked out Frazer Clarke in October 2024. The winner knows they will win the WBO Interim Heavyweight Title, thus becoming mandatory for the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Pre-Fight

“He was able to land just a clean, nice right hand on Justis Huni. You can’t even switch off for a second, otherwise you’re going to get caught and it’s game over. If I slip and don’t have that focus throughout every second of every minute of every round, he can catch me as well. I think any heavyweight can put someone else’s light out.

“But going into this fight, I do believe there’s levels in this sport and I’ve been in this game for a long time and grateful to have been in this game for a long time and still operate at the highest level and it’ll be nice to see what kind of challenges he’s going to bring,” Parker said

“I think for many fights in a row, people have been saying ‘this is a step too far, this is the opponent that’s too good, the opponent that has the skills that will beat you’. I think the way I have been manoeuvring my way through the division has been a bit unexpected,” Wardley stated
