Keyshawn Davis has revealed the truth behind his viral stare down with Ryan Garcia, and it was far less serious than it initially looked.

Footage of the two squaring up in a nightclub spread quickly this week, sparking talk of a potential fight. The moment looked intense, but the reality behind it tells a different story.

There is no expectation for an immediate bout between them, with Garcia playing down the idea of facing Davis shortly after the video surfaced online.

Rising star Davis, an Olympic silver medallist, and Garcia, one of boxing’s biggest names currently and a former interim world champion, are both high-profile figures, which explains why the clip gained so much traction.

And speaking to DAZN Boxing, ‘The Businessman’ detailed how the situation unfolded and why it escalated in front of a crowd.

“I was in the club with Blueface after his fight. We chilling, we politicking, I’m with Blueface and DDG. So he sees me, he comes to the stage. The first words he said to me is, ‘Keyshaw, you know we’re not fighting no time soon, right?’” he began by saying.

“I say, ‘Bro, I’m not even like going after you right now, bro. I’m trying to fight Devin. Like, I’m not even thinking about you. Why are you telling me that?’ He’s like, ‘Okay, well, I’m just trying to let you know.’

“So then Blueface sees us talk and go back and forth. Blueface is like, ‘Man, there’s a stare-off, give us a stare-off.’ I’m like, ‘All right, man, let’s stare-off.’ But as we begin to start to stare-off, then he just switches, like he just started talking trash.”

Davis added: “He just sees me laughing, because I’m already knowing, he’s selling a fight that he doesn’t really want, you know. So we staring off, it’s lit. The DJ like, ‘Yo, Keyshaw Davis in the building. Yo, Ryan Garcia.’ Everybody in the club is staring at us.

“But then, the next day he tweeted: ‘Keyshaw Davis is my brother. I will never fight him.’

“It’s like, damn, why everybody want to be my brother now? I like Ryan, though. Ryan is all right. He’s an all right dude. Brother, I wouldn’t say all that.”

Davis leaves door open to Garcia fight despite earlier stance

While Davis initially dismissed the idea of fighting Garcia, in a bid to challenge Devin Haney, his tone has shifted slightly.

‘King Ryan’ had already suggested the fight would not happen, but the Olympic medallist is not ruling that out.

Despite making clear he was focused on Haney, he now appears more open to possibilities.

“Honestly, I’m willing to fight anybody, honestly. So maybe [I would fight Garcia]. It just takes two to tango,” he stated.

That openness keeps the conversation alive, even if reality suggests the fight remains unlikely for now.
