Keyshawn Davis made a bold claim about Gervonta Davis, claiming he has the blueprint to hand him his first professional knockout loss.
The call-out arrives at a crossroads for both men. Keyshawn is in the midst of a career-defining rebuild. After capturing the WBO lightweight title in February 2025 with a stoppage of Denys Berinchyk, he was stripped of the belt just months later for missing weight by over four pounds for a homecoming defense in Virginia against Edwin De Los Santos. This setback led to a total team overhaul; Keyshawn split from longtime trainer Brian “BoMac” McIntyre and is now set to debut at 140 pounds against Jamaine Ortiz on January 31, as part of the Teofimo Lopez vs. Shakur Stevenson card.
Davis, meanwhile, enters 2026 after the most turbulent year of his career. In March 2025, his perfect record was tarnished by a majority draw against Lamont Roach Jr., a bout where many felt Roach was denied a win due to a controversial ninth-round where Davis took a voluntary knee that was not ruled a knockdown.
Tank’s year went from bad to worse in November, when an. exhibition against Jake Paul was scrapped following a civil lawsuit filed by an ex-girlfriend, which included allegations of battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping. An arrest warrant has been issued for Tank’s arrest. Despite having never fought above the lightweight limit until this month, “The Businessman” believes his skills would be enough to end the reign of Tank.
“I think that I would knock Tank out. He’s too small and I can really punch and I’m really smart bro, I’m super smart. I just feel like I’m Tank’s kryptonite, I really do feel that way. I am the last person on Tank’s list. I got a worst mentality than him and he knows this. What people don’t realise is that I sparred Tank when I was like 16 years old and we were about to fight outside of the ring. “Tank already knows what kind of mentality I am coming with. I got that s**t that he got, but my s**t is a little bit worse, honestly,” Keyshawn said
