The British and Commonwealth middleweight titles are on the line this Friday night as Kieron “Too Class” Conway defends his crowns against unbeaten prospect George Liddard at London’s historic York Hall.
Conway (23-3-1, 7 KO’s) enters this bout on a strong run, having captured the British title earlier this year with a composed fourth-round stoppage of Gerome Warburton. The Northampton fighter, a seasoned technician, also claimed the Commonwealth strap in late 2024 after edging Ryan Kelly on the scorecards.
Liddard (12-0, 7 KO’s) represents the new wave of British middleweights. The 23-year-old from Essex boasts a perfect 12-0 record with seven knockouts and carries the kind of raw aggression that fans can very easily get behind.

Conway has quietly built a record of solid domestic wins and has gone the full twelve rounds several times in his career and that’s largely thanks to his sharp jab and his durability.
Liddard will certainly test his durability on Friday night as the former team GB amateur has a good burst of combinations and power to hurt any man at this level in the middleweight division.
Conway is an intelligent counter-puncher who thrives when fights settle into rhythm. He rarely gets flustered, uses angles well, and manages distance effectively. But in Liddard, he faces someone who fights with high volume, heavy hands, and a willingness to take risks. Liddard’s power has bailed him out in tough moments before, but against a polished veteran like Conway, he’ll need more than just brute strength.
I expect a tense start in the always spectacular atmosphere at York Hall. Conway will likely use his jab and movement to frustrate Liddard, forcing the younger man to overcommit early.
Liddard will aim to cut the ring off, target the body, and test Conway’s resistance in close exchanges. If he can maintain his tempo beyond round six, momentum could swing his way. But if Conway weathers the early storm and dictates range, the champion’s experience could turn this into a tactical battle.
This fight feels destined to go late. Conway’s ring IQ and conditioning make him a tough man to stop, but Liddard’s timing and punching power have improved noticeably with each outing. I really do rate both guys and this is a great piece of matchmaking by Matchroom, but at this stage in their careers I’m leaning towards the more experienced man and the one that’s probably a bit more polished.
I’m taking Kieron Conway moneyline at odds of 2.25. When you can get plus money on the clearly more experienced fighter in a close matchup, I’m going to take that selection 90% of the time.
